Gunther is the technical backbone of Monkey Magic AI. With over a decade of experience in software engineering, distributed systems and AI infrastructure, he leads the development team with a rare combination of deep technical expertise and relentless energy.
Before joining Monkey Magic AI, Gunther held senior engineering roles at several leading fintech firms, where he architected trading platforms, built real-time data pipelines and led the adoption of machine learning models in production environments. His work on low-latency systems earned him recognition across the industry.
Gunther specialises in AI ethics, model governance and responsible deployment. He believes that great technology should serve everyone, and he is passionate about building systems that are transparent, fair and accountable. Mostly.
He is also the team's fastest coder. Some say he writes code faster than he eats bananas, though given his banana consumption, that is genuinely impressive. His preferred debugging method involves staring intensely at the screen until the bug confesses.
Gunther once deployed a production hotfix while hanging upside down from a tree branch. He claims it improved blood flow to the brain. The deployment was flawless. He has never been able to replicate this under normal office conditions.
When not coding, Gunther can be found reviewing pull requests with surgical precision, mentoring junior monkeys, or arguing passionately about tab width. He is firmly in the two-spaces camp, which is the only ethical position, in his view.
